Child of God is a Pre-School - Grade 8 Lutheran School

“Middle School: Back to School Night”

Child of God’s middle school will have its annual back to school night for parents on Thursday, September 2, 2010 beginning at 7:00 PM. Parents will follow a 5 period schedule to visit their student’s core classes. Teacher will provide information on material covered in class, special projects for the year, and grading.

Annual Back to School Fall Picnic

COG’s annual Fall school picnic will take place on Wednesday, September 8th, at 6:00 PM. The picnic will be at Dames Park in O’Fallon. Parents A-L are reminded to bring a meat dish and a dessert; Parents M-Z are asked to bring at meat dish and a salad or vegetable. Plates, napkins, utensils, and lemonade will be provided. OH! Don’t foget to bring a lawn chair or two!

COG TO BEGIN THE RE-ACCREDITATION PROCESS

Child of God is in 7th and final year of its accreditation. A steering committee has be formed and work will begin on its re-accreditation. COG has two accreditations: National Lutheran School Accreditation and Missouri Nonpublic School Accreditation and is seeking to renew those accreditations. A steering committee, which will drive the process, has been chosen and will meet on Thursday, September 9. When all the work is completed, a site visit by NLSA will take place in April of 2011 which will review and recommend accreditation.

VIOLIN AND BAND BEGIN NEXT WEEK

Violin and band begin next week! Students interested in violin (Kindergarten and up) or band (grade 4 and up) should contact Mrs. McSwain at their earliest convenience to sign up. She will provide information on the lessons and instrument rentals.

GARAGE SALE

Our annual garage sale is Saturday, September 18, from 7AM till Noon. The public is invited to check out the sale!

COG ANNUAL CRAFT FAIR

Child of God’s Annual Craft Fair is Saturday, September 25, from 9:00 AM till 3:00 PM. The craft fair usually attracts 60-70 crafters from the local area to participate in the event. A bake sale and barbecue will also be a part of the day’s activities. The public invited to the event!
